Education Educated in Lyon in a calvinist family, he joined the banking company founded by his father in the early 1750s. He married Madeleine Boy de La Tour in 1766.
Career 1776: among the founders of the Caisse d'Escompte 1777: moved the offices of the family banking house from Lyon to Paris 1782: Administrator of the Caisse d'Escompte 1783: "Delessert et Cie" registered in the Almanach Royal 1787: Director of the Compagnie Royale d'Assurances 1792 and 1793: imprisoned twice 1811: awarded the Legion d'honneur by Napoleon 1815: founded a school for the education of young Protestants
