Career

He was confirmed as pastor in 1754 and spent his life inn charge of different Protestant churches, in Breda from 1753-63, then successively in Grandson, Orbe and Assens.

He also created a weaving factory in Saint-Sulpice.

He corresponded, amongst otheres, with Cesare Beccaria.
Financial Situation

Thanks to his wife's wealth, he built himself the chateau of Beaulieu, near Lausanne.
