Education He graduated with an M.A. from Jesus College Cambridge in 1692 but probably never studied at Cambridge since the M.A. is by Royal warrant.
Career Raphson was proposed for election to the Royal Society on 27 November 1689 by Edmund Halley and was elected on 30th November 1689. He was connected to Isaac Newton but the details are unclear.
