The volume printed the letters by Leibniz and Clarke in both French and English on facing pages. La Roche translated Clarke's letters into French, but he asked Des Maizeaux not to indicate in his Preface that he was the author of the translation.
The French version was republished in Pierre Des Maizeaux's Recueil de diverses pièces sur la philosophie, la religion naturelle, l’histoire, les mathématiques, par Mrs Leibniz, Clarke, Newton etc, H. du Sauzet, Amsterdam, 1720, I, p. 1-199, under the title "Difficultés de M. Leibniz contre les sentiments de quelques célèbres écrivains anglais; touchant les Principes de la Philosophie, & de la Théologie Naturelle: avec les Réponses de M. Clarke"
